Arrival in Dakar & Hotel Check-In
Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted at the airport and transferred to our hotel, Hotel L’Adresse Dakar, where you’ll check in and enjoy breakfast. Take some time to refresh after your flight and settle into your surroundings.

This afternoon, we head out to one of Senegal’s most iconic natural wonders — Lac Rose (Pink Lake). Known for its striking pink hues caused by natural minerals, this experience blends beauty, culture, and fun.

Are flights included in the trip fee?
No. Airfare is not included in Afro Discoveries travel packages. You’ll need to handle booking your own flights. But don’t worry – we’ve got your back! Since we, the owners, will be traveling as well, we are happy to share our flight itinerary in case you want to be on the same flight with us. If needed, we are also able to meet with you by phone or video to offer some advice and assist with preferred routes and airlines before your purchase your ticket.

Should I purchase travel insurance?
Absolutely! We would highly recommend you purchase Travel Protection to help protect yourself and your trip investment. Life can be unpredictable. Even the best-planned trips can be impacted by the unexpected. Travel insurance can help with medical coverage for illness or injury, trip cancellation and/or interruption, baggage loss, medical evacuation, and more.
Although we do not endorse a particular insurance company, we will provide a list of companies and descriptions of travel benefits at the time of booking.
Is there a payment plan?
Yes! See our trip Payment Options page, found here, for more details.
Is there a refund policy?
Yes! Our refund policy is based on the timing of cancellation relative to the trip’s start date. Pre-paid trip payments made to Afro Discoveries are non-refundable on or after 60 days of the trip. However, you have the option to transfer your booked trip to another person, provided that Afro Discoveries is notified by September 1. The transfer request must be approved by Afro Discoveries and will be subject to a transfer fee of $300.
Cancellations made:
- 100+ days before the trip receive a 90% refund.
- 75–99 days before the trip receive a 50% refund.
- 61–74 days before the trip receive a 25% refund.
All refunds are minus a $200 non-refundable cancellation fee per person. No refunds are issued for cancellations within 60 days of the trip.
The purchase of travel insurance is recommended.
Do I need special vaccinations?
Yes, we recommend consulting your nearest Travel Clinic to determine if you need special vaccinations. They can provide personalized advice based on your destination, medical history, and specific travel plans to ensure your health and safety abroad. Additionally, make sure your regular immunizations are up to date by consulting your primary physician.
